
The Poway Academy of Learning is committed to maximizing the academic potential of each student by providing a program and services individualized to the needs of each student.

The Poway Academy of Learning, a school within a school, provides intensive academic programs designed to meet each student's individual needs in grades six through twelve.
The Poway Academy of Learning provides mainstreaming and integration opportunities with age appropriate peers. Small group instruction emphasizes individual strengths that lead the student toward completion of graduation requirements.

Ancillary services available to support individual education programs include:
- Speech and Language Services
- DIS Counseling
- Assistive Technology
- Keyboarding
- Occupational Therapy
Enrollment is based upon assessment, diagnosis and identification of students who qualify under Federal and/or State criteria for Special Education and related services. Each student is deemed capable of completing core academic requirements and typically demonstrates one of more of the following:
- Attention deficit/hyperactivity
- Visual/auditory processing difficulty
- Poor motor integration
- Limited social skills
Students are accepted on a case-by-case basis following evaluation by the Poway Special Education Department and recommendation by a student's IEP team.
