API Growth Reports - October 28, 2004
The API Growth
Reports that were released by the California Department of
Education on October 28th do not have scores for the schools in
the Poway Unified School District because of a discrepancy in
the way data has been reported to the state. Each school report
for Poway Unified states, "This school is currently changing
data. Their API is scheduled for release in January."
Listings of each
PUSD school's 2003 API scores can be found on one of the links
at http://cde.ca.gov/api.
Poway Unified schools have shown consistent improvement and the
district has no schools that are under No Child Left Behind
sanctions.
The PUSD Testing and
Accountability team is committed to producing the most accurate
and complete reports. The state's changes in the way they are
asking districts to report data was not clearly communicated.
The district has been notified of three revisions of the AYP or
API this year due to errors at the state level. There are 1200
schools in California that are not receiving API Growth Reports
in October because of the need for data corrections.
