Frank Serna Chosen As
PUSD Classified Employee of the Year

Poway Unified School District’s selection for Classified Employee for 2000-2001 is Frank Serna, a warehouse worker in the Facilities Development Department. Frank is being recognized for his superior workmanship, helpful friendly manner, and outstanding customer service.

Frank has worked for the district for six years. He has been a bus driver, a food service worker/driver, and a warehouse driver and department worker. He is polite and always cheerful despite everyday pressures. He continues to volunteer whenever there is a need to drive children to and from school or fill in as a food service driver.

"Frank doesn’t need to be asked to help. He automatically just does the task and does it well," said Bob Holmes, warehouse supervisor. "He gets along well with everyone and mentors those who need it."

Because Frank has mastered all phases of warehouse operations and treats each job with the utmost importance, his colleagues know him as "a man for all seasons." On a daily basis he is asked to switch from one task to another, which he does with true professionalism. Frank’s pride in his work translates into excellent customer service. He uses tact, charm, and understanding to win customers’ approval. When a situation needs solving, he does so efficiently, leaving the customer with a positive attitude about warehouse operations.

"Above all Frank is a devoted husband and father, a true gentleman, and he is a pleasure to work with," said Bob Holmes.
