Office of Student Discipline and Support
In a large district, student behavior is a key component of a safe learning environment. While the great majority of students follow community standards of behavior, violations of the Education Code of California do occur. Poway Unified School District has endeavored to consistently apply appropriate and effective consequences when these violations interrupt the learning environment. The
Office of Student Discipline and Support, working with the 31 individual school sites, has developed that consistent approach to student behavioral issues and frequently reviews procedure in order to insure the likelihood of a safe and orderly school environment.
The Office of Student Discipline and Support oversees the Home School/Liaison Program, California Safe Schools Assessment, Administrative Hearings, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 for students.
